Already for quite a lot of years now, Platja d’Aro is known as a popular seaside resort on the Costa Brava. This large seaside resort with its 3 km long “Platja Gran”-sand beach is suitable for both young and old.
Out of season less than 6.000 people live here, but during the summer months, except for Loret de Mar, Platja d’Aro is the largest and most popular seaside resort on the Costa Brava. During this period the town has a number of inhabitants somewhere between 80.000 and 100.000 people.
Platja d’Aro has a lively boulevard with a lot of terraces, bars and restaurants with a beautiful view on the wide Aro-beach. There’s also an impressive marina and a (nearby) cosy boulevard, provided with several terraces, restaurants and bars. In the centre of the town you’ll find many shops, entertainment opportunities, bars and disco’s. Playa d’Aro is adjacent to the large Aro-beach.
Still (nevertheless) there are also other beaches and “snorkel bays” in the near vicinity. If you would like to do more than merely enjoying the sun, then there are enough other possibilities in the direct environment, such as windsurfing, sailing, diving, playing tennis and golf. We also advise you to pay a visit to one of the authentic little villages in the inland.
Platja d’Aro certainly is a good holiday destination to rent a holiday home.
