Calonge is 2 km from the sea and has old mansions and a castle. It is in the baix comarca of empordà, where some of the famous seaside resorts of the Costa Brava, including platja d'aro. You can find picturesque bays and villages. Near is the alt empordà, o.ä. Known for its wines and the dalí museums. In Calonge's market on thursday and, in the nearby sant antoni, on wednesday. Platja d'aro and Palamos with their many venues are less than 7 km away.
